I would like my forum to set up where you have to register to join. How do I do this or can it even be done?

I mean they have register e.g click registration link and fill out form to join the forum.

Are you wanting them to not have to fill out that form or want them to have to fill out the form?

They always have to fill out a form to register/join.

They do? I didn't see it in the bar on my site preview so I assumed there was no registration required to join. I have built my site the way I want it now so how do I make it permanent or is it already so?
