I just did some experimenting to my design. Things like going from phpbb3 to phpbb2 and now back to phbb3. As well as color changes and theme change.
Well, I noticed since I did it no one had been posting. Then I just got an email from someone who is trying to register, and they didn;t recieve and email confirmation.
I then tried registering a new account myself under new name to see if it was working, and it keeps saying "user name already taken", even though its not. No matter what name I choose.
So now I think my current posters haven't been able to log back in because of this.
Please help
Thank you

Thanks so much for replying so fast.
Ok, I'm there, and I can see her username. How do I send the confirmation link?

Just active her account.

Thanks, yep I figured it out.
Any ideas on why its saying "username already taken", when trying to register a new account? The username isnt taken yet.

Sometimes it does that where the account was exactly created but not actived. When this happens, the first place to look is the Inactive Users List.
Was your account in the list?

no, what I meant was I logged out, then tried to register a new account. Just to test if it was working. And no matter what name I put for the username, it said "sorry, that name is already taken".
So I'm worried new users aren't being able to register.

This maybe a reason.

Try:
ACP > Users & Groups > User options > Authorizes new registrations: YES
ACP > Users & Groups > User options > Authorizes new registrations: YES
