Hi guys, I hope this is in the correct section.
I recently gave a member full admin rights. And ticked all of the "can moderate" on each forum section.
However he came back to me and said "I've had a look at mod powers and the only thing I seem to be able to do apart from amend posts - is to split them into new topics - I'm going to need loads more powers like locking threads, banning people, moving threads, etc, etc."
So, two questions really.
How do I set permissions for moderators in general? Where do I locate the controls?
And, is this user (now admin) required to ban people etc via the control panel rather than the way a usual moderator would do?
Thanks in advance.

I guess he isn't admin, if he can't ban user. Check if you added your friend here certain => yourforumurl/g1-administrators

He is definitely admin - I checked on Users and Groups, Special Users - he is listed as admin.
I suppose my question though is can a moderator ban people from some sort of moderator panel. I am admin myself so I don't really know what a mod sees.

Try this: Administration Panel => General => Forum => Security => Security Administration => Disallow moderators to ban members : No.

It seems that various administrators may wish to grant or revoke only certain rights/privelidges to their moderators. This may apply to all moderators (perhaps an administrator feels that the rights moderators have in general is too much or indeed too
