Why did my Portal become my homepage?

I just set up my portal and its now its showing up as my homepage as well. I dont want it like that. I want my normal homepage, and to only enter the portal through the header links. Please help. Thanks

Administration Panel > Display > Homepage > Generalities

yeah, thanks. Thats what it was, I had it to set to portal. Fixed.

Currently, you can only have the announcement on: Homepage, Portal or all pages.
People complain of lag if it is on all pages.
People on portal will not see homepage announcement and vice versa.
Wouldn't it be better to have only a homepage and portal
