When I go to the settings of a forum, members can write topics or messages. However, when I go to the Forum Permissions Control and type in a Member name, it shows that they can't post and their status is in red saying: MEMBERS.
Also, new members can't join even though I changed it to Yes, and I do allow it to be open on holidays.

When the Holiday is activated, it deactivates registrations and members postings completely. The only people who can post during the Holiday activation is the Administrators.
If you switch the Holiday to 'No', members will be able to post and registrations will be open again.
Hope this helps in a way...

On my site a lot of members ask for help and advice and some have said they feel like they can ask if it better if they could post anonymously ie go into profile and click post anonymously to post and ask for help and advice without people knowing it is
