Option to turn post count off in certain forums

Yep, I'm back with another idea. This time, I want to put forth the suggestion of having the option of turning post count off in a particular forum.

On the site I am staff at, The Hogwarts Experience, we have a games section which is liked by a lot of our members, however those who do post there have a post count a lot higher than others who don't.

If this mod was made to the boards, post count could be turned off on the games section, which would be very useful, especially as we have a 'years' system, whereby different privileges and options are available the higher year you are. Sometimes members post solely in the games to inflate post count.

Thoughts?

I think it is a great idea as i offer prizes for people who get to a certain post level and in some forums its easy to post in!

I don't mean in the whole forum, just certain parts of it, such as a games section, which is in essence, glorified spam.

It wouldn't be a necessary thing, just an option that's there if we need it.

Only place I would do it would be my games/joke section.. but yeah it could be handy. Doesn't really matter either way though.

I think that it is a great idea. To have that extra option for admins to choose to turn off the post count in a certain section would be very helpful to stop things like spam posts in the games section. As xaphania said, it wouldnt be all over the forum and would be a selective thing so people wouldnt have to use it!

I think it could be useful for flood sections, because some members post there only to have higher ranks xD

Actually, we don't know if we will develop this option, because we don't think about it, and it is a good idea you had. So we will see if Gizmo (the fondator of editboard) will agree with that option.
