Need Help With Logo Graphic Design/Creation/Edit/Change/Fix!

If anyone could help me... I have a very plain and simple logo design and I was wondering if anyone would be able to spice it up a little.
Sorry the whole logo wouldn't fit in anyway the logo is "N.E. Writers!" or it could be "North East Wirters"
The Logo doesn't have to look like this, it would be best if it had a pic of a book or something.
The Forum is a literature forum so if anyone could help me out i would appreciate it.
