Hi all.
I'have seen many forums that have been erase without reason (many times because the people incharge of the litigation confuse the free-software (freeware, shareware, personal programs, etc) downloads as warez..), and after the forum is erased, there is no way to recover it.. loosing all the time and dedication the admin and the forum' users put on it.
So i want to propose two things:
1) When a forum is erased, send an email informing and giving the reason(s) of it.
2) Give a period to revoke the litigation.. (give the admins the chance to say "I didnt have any ilegal download.. please verify this"), so they can recover their forum if it was a mistake.
Thanks you all,
expecting a good reception,
Alexis

hmm, agreed. Not all free software download are warez
. for example if i put a link on my forum to download trail software or freeware/shareware software its still considered warez? and my forum still got deleted bcz of this thing?
i guess forumation staff need to more sensitive on this matter and IF necessary made this preiod thing for that broke rules forum admin correct that mistake.
i voted yes!

I think the staff do check accurately now.
I don't think a forum would be deleted for a link to the latest version of spybot for instance.
But usually the deleted forums are along the lines of say.uberwarez.something.com.
Pretty obvious that the site wasn't set up for freeware.
Most of the warez forum owners must be incredibly stupid to think a forum with a title containing warez would be missed or confused with an ordinary forum.

Not now; the techies have always throroughly checked forums
Trust me they know the difference between free programs (freeware) and illegal programs
I mean, that is part of their job after all

I say no to this. I think that the TOS are pretty clear and if you didn't take the time to read them, or if you are dumb enough to put up that stuff anyway then it is your own fault. Also I believe that if you aren't blatantly breaking the TOS, and it is just something minor, then the staff do notify you of it and ask you to take it down. At least that is what I remember somebody on staff telling somebody once, Caihlem or somebody else needs to correct me if I'm wrong on this. So if it was accidental or not a huge deal you will have a chance to take down the content before your forum is deleted.

If you thinks so.. then please close.
But at least i'm in knowledge of at least 4 forums that have been erased with no real real reason ... (and no notification).
Thk for all.
