New member automatically in a group

When a new member arrive, I would like to be automatically placed in the group of my choice.
It would be very practical.

I do like this idea..
Even though it could only be used for people that have lots of non-moderator groups, teams for example.

When someone joins my forum I put him in the "Members" group but it's hard to put so many members in the group. This idea is amazing!

I vote yes!! it would make life so much easier!
i found out just recently how to get a special posting rank, like say if they post 100 things they get a rank but wouldn't it be good if they automatically be put into a group.

If you have to put in every member in a group, just put the permissions for the members down. It's simpler that way. This is a waste of time for development, so no.
