PM report abuse button

This is a suggestion for all forums and especially the help forum.
I am suggesting a report button for PM's. Just like we have a report button for threads we need one for the PM's.

Pm spam has always been a problem and the only way to solve it was to ignore it or ban the members asap. I think the reporting to ban stage takes too long, and before the admins or mods get to know about a spammer or Pm abuser the culprit has already posted 100 abusive Pm's.

I haven't seen this on any other forum, so we could be pioneers with this idea.
I would also like to see a automated version of this feature... what i mean is that the report button has a click limit. For example if the click limit for the report was 50 ... then if 50 different members clicked the report button during a similar time then the spammer would have his Pm disabled automatically... this saves time for the admins.

Jalo, I am in agreement with you. Many many forums, especially the Support forum would benefit from this button. I am getting tired of having to take a screen-shot then PMing a moderator to report PM abuse.

This button would eliminate so much time. Just click the button and you're done. Much quicker than taking a screen-shot, then saving it (if need be), then uploading it etc.

Again, 100% support from me!!! cheers

If the idea of redirecting reports to a moderator forum would actually come through someday, your idea would be perfect.

But even without the redirecting reports idea, your idea of a PM report button is an absolute necessity on Forumotion. Smile

I voted YES as well, although in my opinion the automatic system is a step too far and could be abused as well. Having a report button there would be very helpful already, but the power to disable a pm box should remain in admin's hands.

Otherwise, a really helpful addition for all forum staffs!

deffinatly yes... i mean one time this guy PM'ed me and told me i could go to his forum for a free hacked download for photoshop and i mean i wish i could have reported him but instead i had to take a picture and PM brandon and all that when it would be helpful to report him so then all the admins and mods and global mods and everyone could see it!! vote yes on the 2008 report Pm poll Very Happy

ME AND MY MODS NEED ONE OF THOSE!!!!

Every time we log in, we freaking get 200 spam msg a day.
Is so ignoring that we dont even want to check our mail box anymore.
Even though we warned them like 100 times not to PM Admin or Mods.

And is even great for my members to report it to, if they don't abuse it.

I voted yes. It sounds reasonable and useful. It happened to me that even on Support forum i received advertising for a newb`s forums 2x. Wish i could just press the report button, instead of explaining him a few things.
