I fear it'd make a distinction between members and I'd rather avoid having to remind "VIP"s that they're (still) not staff

I think that a VIP forum is not necessary, but I do think that a VIP Rank would be worth considering. (Maybe for members with over 1000 posts Razz

I've got mixed feelings like some of you... My thoughts lie both with the admin who posted here and with scamite (who seems to be right, more and more often these days)

But I think that it could be put to better use with a different name. VIP works with what Caihlem is saying, they'd think they're sooo much better than everyone else, just be cause they're post wh- ...frequent posters. But if you had a less superiour name, and made it for people who contribute to the site in ways such as *is totaly using this with me in mind* helping all of the less-compitent people in the HTML probs section... Then I think that the rank defining them as people to turn to for help would be a great idea to consider!

So with that in mind I voted no to a VIP forum with a resounding yes in mind for a special rank.

I must admit that the idea of like a "Non-Staff Helper" rank is very tempting. A rank that sort of dignifies members who help members alot.

It's tempting because I like the idea of giving credit to people when credit they deserve. But I must be paranoid because I'm always worried about the ones who will try to abuse their rank. Obviously the same rules would apply to them (no moderating and similar).
