some people like to have a beta forum that they would try suggestions out and see how well the forum works out before taking off of construction etc. the problem is you have to redo EVERYTHING! (boards,groups,probably the layout, etc.) i find that is hard work for nothing therefore i suggest that each forum be aloud one BETA forum that is easy to delete when unneeded and that copies all the boards and information off of the old forum when created and most importantly does not edit the original forum when information and stuff are added.
the url could be something like originallink.beta.forumotion.com or originallink.forumotion.com/beta/allthatotherstuff (im not an expert on that stuff)
please take this in consideration. i think it would be a popular addition to forumotion. thanks for your time.

edit 2008-09-16: the purpose of this is not a new forum. (which i have made enough of trying to do what you are supposing) its the fact that you have to remake everything! I'm not sure if you have ever made a large forum but mine always have a bunch of permissions and groups and settings remaking all those is a LARGE waist of time for someone who is really.

that means there should be a copy of directories, hey, just get a new forum and try everything on that

You could just get another E-mail address and make a test forum there.

for the boards and groups I think they don't matter and for layout/style you can use that function of temporary themes

*sighs* well my forum just messed up and if this function were available it would not have. but yea you hate my idea i get that. cya people
