Add a spell checker to the admin panel?

I am a member of several different forums who's members can't spell so it makes reading their posts fairly difficult, one forum had that many complaints about people's spelling mistakes that they installed a spell checker and the quality of the post dramatically improved. Would it be possible to add a spell checker to the admin panel that can be activated or deactivated by the admin? It would be joined to the text box icons so that it can be used every time a person makes a post or sends a pm. Do you think they're a good idea?

It Still Would Be A Good Idea To Get A Spell Checker For The Forum. Yes.

Would it be better if we just use Firefox with a spell checker? It saves the techies more time and can focus on other projects.

Even though I still have a Spell Checker it would be nice to have one
Voted Yes!

I use Mozilla and yes it would be helpful if everyone used it but not everyone likes it, and as Admin of my own forum I don't always have time to check everyone's posts for spelling errors. If there was one on the admin panel that could be activated and added to the text box icons then at least that way the poster can check their own spelling.

Yes, it would certainly help.

We're all members of forums with members that can't spell. Terrible grammar and poor punctuation runs rampant, too. Firefox is awesome because of its built-in spell-checker, but I still vote "yes" here. Now, if only we could somehow make members use spell-check....

I run Firefox [up to date] and I have spell checker installed. It works on all sites I use, even this site, but for some reason, it doesn't always work on my own forum...

so for this reason, and the fact that so many people still prefer to use IE, I'd like to see a Spell Checker introduced - and have a little button above where you type your posts, so you can click and check before submitting!

I only say no, because they should work on adding other features first.
sure this would be useful in the future, even though i wouldnt use it. but it wouldnt harm me, since its an on/off feature.
however, like i said, they should work on more important updates first. besides, mozilla firefox has a spell check just like microsoft word. I think a grammar check is way more important.
example: people say know instead of no alot. spell check wouldnt pick that up.
their, there, they're - spell check wouldnt pick that up.
you're, your - spell check wouldnt pick that up.
im just more worried about things like that, other than misspelling.

again, this feature wouldnt hurt, but they need to work on other things first.

I have received several request for a spell checker on my site. I think it would be nice to have that option.

I would like to see many other suggestions implemented first, but this is a good idea - Voted Yes

Well I think that they must just learn to spell... How will they learn if they have a button and it correct all their mistakes?

Hmm, isn't there something already like this called the WYSIWYG Mod in the admin panel, that you can easily activate?

Firefox and Safari have a spell checker. Tell them to get either one of those.

I vote no.

I voted no. As many member have stated, use Mozilla Firefox or learn how to spell correctly.

I never gave this a second thought as I use Mozilla Firefox which has a built in spell checker. But I do see your frustration. A spell checker would be a very good addition. A vote for Yes from Me.

You are very rude, have you bothered to read my original post or any of my replies? because if you had you would have seen that I have already said that I do use firefox and I can spell, I'm thinking of others, other that are younger than me, for example who are still at school, still going through their education who perhaps can't spell correctly as you put it. Try reading the replies instead of just the title in future.

I am a stickler for proper spelling. It would be a good idea to have a spell checker added to the sites so that you can check the spelling of your post before submitting it.
