Forumotion's Gallery Avatar Contest

Its time for you ... yes you the members of forumotion, to help us. Our avatar gallery is seriously in need of a make over, with so many helping hands on the forum why not ask the members to do something??

The theory is simple... we need 30 new avatars for the avatar gallery. The graphics staff and moderation staff of forumotion's forum of the forums will be responsible for half of the avatars and the other 15 are member made.

Its time to take out your Photo.net and your GimpShop applications out of the closet and onto your monitor. We are looking for avatars with a forumotion feel... so we want greens and blues and oranges.
Everybody participating is entitled to download a resource pack which I have specially prepared for you guys. The resource pack consists of 4 images... two of them are the green monster, all redesigned by me. The other 2 images are a surprise... they didn't make the cut for the forumotion shop... so maybe they'll come to use here.

Every avatar has to be 150x200 pixels ... if you don't match these specifications your art won't qualify for voting. Your avatar has to contain at least one image from the resource pack... twist it and turn it how you wish as long as the forumotion accent is in the avatar.

the vitals in a pill:

Avatar size: 150x200 ONLY
at least 1 resource image must be used
We need it to use forumotion colors and style
Due date ... 2 weeks from now the 11-11-2008
max 3 avatars per member
No animated avatars

Contest ends 11-11-2008 ... all entries will be judged by the stunning staff of forumotion's help site.
The top 15 avatars will make it along with professionally made avatars of the gfx staff to the avatar gallery.
So in general your reward is having your avatar featured on the avatar gallery, so everyone can use it at any time.

Oh... thanks for reminding me.... the avatars can't be animated...
they are going to be used on the forum, so the max size is 50kb... otherwise they won't be able to be uploaded

Nice entries guys... maybe try to cut down on text.
The main idea is to have the forumotion symbol on it, and the avatars have to appeal to many people... not just a group.

my current favorites are christos' orange one ... the others one are a bit bleak.
I loves solitudes ... thats what we need... something simple, that looks nice on this forum, although i'd edit the text...a more readable font ... same goes for christos, the stroke around the letters ruined it.

beno I like your concepts but there's too much going on... too much text, too much shadow.
yoyonaja also nice, and mex like the second one....

keep working guys... I'll try to post some of my concepts, so you can get a feel for what we need, I bet hellboy will leave somethign aswell.

try to use the shopmotion designs to help you...
