Ok Caihlem can we get this ball rolling?
For those who don't know, there was a suggestion that this site start a forums review, where staff review your site and tell you ideas on improving it.

Awwww 13 year olds should be able to do that. I give people advice on how to improve their forum. I'll have to wait for about 3 or 5 years then before that'll happen.
But therefore, I vote yes!

I agree, there should be a Forumotion forum reviewing forum.
13 years or older of age should be able to do this.

Another excellent idea that seems to have been ignored.

I think how to would be better suited to this as they wont be bias

bloody windows update.... i hit restart now instead of later... and now i need to write this all over again.
In a nutshell ... I think the main reason behind this not being implemented is flamewars and abuse that will occur with people not agreeing to comments.
Some people can't handle critisizm, or they think they can.
I also wrote something about me wanting to review the gfx of a board... but I do not rate freely. I am very strict when judging, and I don't care if its a friends forum or a strangers forum... i rate the same.
I am registered, on a gfx and gaming site...(back then) ... I quickly made it to graphic artist and critic... after a while no-one liked me(at all) ... they all said that I post "harsh comments" ... but a couple months down the line they all came back, with humble appoligies... stating that I was right and my crisitizm actually helped them.
So I think only members that can take crtisizm, and won't be sore losers, can enter their sites for review. I think its a good idea to point out flaws in a forum... but the founder should be able to take the critque.
Also the judges can't be people that will just go and say "cool... or good" all the time. The reviews should be strict and neutral... work with the matter on hand not think about hurting someones feelings.

Is this going to get going or not?
11 Tarogasini, on 23/12/2008 at 23h55
I voted yes, but i doubt that this will be ever done.
Even the current staff, now, dont have enough members to be in complete control of the support forum. I cant imagine this same staff visiting our forums and then writing reviews.

I do agree with Tarogasini, however id like to say that, we could have a different bunch of people rather than the current staff here.
Voted yes, and would quite happily be apart of the crew that does this.

So, let me get this straight...
A group of self-appointed people get to be judge and jury over our forums to tell us how crappy they are?
WOW! Sounds like a great idea
If it hadn't occurred to anyone, not EVERYONE who runs a forum is a graphic artist or even aspires to be.
If you have no knowledge of what my forum relates to, how would you then be able to tell me what I have done wrong?

zinex wrote:Many people ask on this forum how they can improve their forum, does their forum look okay etc. Unfortunately at the moment there isnt much help for them but the support forum will soon be adding a proper section for posts like these, a reviews section.
This means that any forumotion admin can post up their forum and ask for it to be reviewed by a staff reviewer, The staff reviewer will then go to their site, have a look at it and decide what could be done to improve it and write a review. The forumotion admin can then choose to use the review ideas to improve his forum.

Great idea for this to be accomplished. But, shouldn't there be something like no other member can see another member's post to their forum? If we have this idea used, then it would be like a 'free advertisement' forum. People would just be posting their forum as an advertisemental problem.
If this is to be made, there should be something where a member cannot see another member's (instead of a "staff reviewer").
And if this is to be made... there should be a new staff group made called "Staff Reviewer".
Does any of this sound good and understandable?

if you dont want a review, you dont have to ask for one

and no man will ever give birth or can breast feed, but they can still be midwives, health visitors and gynacologists. Point being, you dont have to be able to physically do something to be knowlegeable about it...it just helps

That's the oddest metaphore I've heard all month... but as strange as it is... it's oddly... effective?

it hasnt been ignored as far as i know, but i think there will be an overhaul of the support forum soon enough and i believe it may be implemented then. Dont quote me on that! (step away from the quote button)
