Would it be possible to make the poll results public? so that you can see who voted for what? because as it stands now it's a bit difficult to guess who voted for what, and sometimes you need to know who voted for what.
So would it be possible to have a choice of making poll results public or private when making the poll? (like vbulletin has)

I think, while getting an opinion you don't need to know who has voted what.
I say No. Users, should get privacy on this.

That's why i said to have an option of having the results private or public, so if you want it private then you choose that, or if not then you choose public.

If you want to know who vote for what then don't make a poll.
Make a topik and ask to vote by writting the vote.
If the members want to public their vote, they will answer.
Otherwise they won't write anything.
Polls must be private so I vote "no".

But if it's possible to make the votes public you can use the polls in a terrific way as
RSVPD:s
I think it's called in English. To sign up for activities and you can easily get a quick overview of the interest to attend an activity. You could for example have three different alternatives in the poll:
1. I will attend
2. Undecided
3. I cannot attend this time
Wouldn't that be great to have the option to choose whether the poll is public or private (and that is clear when the poll is public in some way - on the other hand you can always cancel the poll).

But the users do have privacy if it is clear when the poll is public or private before they vote. I suppose that clearness can be accomplished in different ways. Perhaps it is possible to reuse the functionality from polls but to call them RSVP when it is a "public poll"?
From the beginning the question here is to have the _option_ to make a poll public and of course that should be clear before people vote. All the arguments from people voting no make me feel that they haven't really read the actual question here? No one wants to prohibit you from having private polls.
No one wants to trick people into believing their voting is private when it's not. There is no law against that!

Hello,
I vote No on this suggested. It will only cause flamewars and provoke attacks on member's who don't agree, by showing who voted for who.
Sorry, it gets a bit confusing.

Well if a user wants to vote no, but they know that their name will come up, they probably won't vote anymore. It just leads to biased voting now.

Would you like someone to see your vote. I wouldn't But if you vote for a president then they just add the count.

it's optional what kind of poll it is, you can still add anonymous polls or the one suggested. soyeah, /yes from me since it's optional and ppl can avoid voting for public ones

Hello A-M,
I voted no because this is unnecessary. Polls are a way of getting members to make a decision between choices. These should be "private" as stated by many members. If the user who voted wishes to tell the public what they voted for, then they will post a message saying they voted for so and so. For example, this post itself.
Regards,
Base

Well maybe the users can check a box if they do not want to see what people voted for.

Hey everyone
I'm running a contest on my forum and in a few days, will open a poll for people to vote for the winner. but I don't want the results to be viewable for everyone until it ends, I want the results only viewable to admin until then. is this
I think that when making polls, there should be an option to hide the results until the poll ends. This would be beneficial when having contest polls, elections, and much more.
If you need more details, lemme know
Isn´t be a nice idea to be allowed to hide poll results till time to vote has ended? Sometimes people migth be influenced in a poll by the option which has most of votes, and he/she votes without sense...
Would you like this? Post here saying if so, or
