I think this would be useful to avoid flood. Also, other avid posters posting in the forum games corner or whatever you call it to get a life

Sorry, but I vote NO.
This will just stop activity in my opinion.

^ i wasn't talking about limiting a member to 5 posts a day, something like 200 posts a day.
hope i can change minds in my suggestion :]
1st of all, I don't think anyone can post that fast in one day.
2nd, half the posts of those people who can make that much would probably be on forum games.
3rd, If a member spams or floods, their posts are limitedmeaning they can't flood a lot.
4th, also to give the members a rest. I mean 200 posts per day is not normal O.o I think members who do this should get a life or something o.O
5th, reduces the chance of spamming because members know the have limits
hope i can change minds in my suggestion :]

No sorry.Like said above,it would decrease activity. Some people in my old forum post 200 posts + a day and not one is spam

you get to decide if you want it or not. it's just an option. Also, you could decide the number of posts.
I've seen one member (not forumotion though)
he/she/it posts like mad O.O
so it really reduces spam.
Anyways, if the members can post more than what you limit them, that would be a little crazy don't you think? They should get a life. They're on sale on malls since it's Christmas. J/K

12 nimiel, on 12/12/2008 at 14h40
^ i think that we should also have a feature enabled to stop counting admin's post. I think i'll make a topic like that

This just makes the forum very very un active. Why would you want to make your forum that?

A HUGE YES.
I host things called freerolls on my site.
And When I host a freeroll lot of people sign up to my site and you need 15 posts or more to get password.
So all the new members sign up and just flood with silly posts to get their 15 posts.
But only you can choose if a member is like 6days old he can only post a minimum of 5posts a day.
But if they are a week old they can post as much as they like.
This would be great to help my site and alot of my members have asked for this.

To me this will make your forum very boring and un active. Why would you want this. Sorry just my thoughts.

If you're worried about people spamming game sections...don't have one. If you're gonna have one, then don't complain about them posting there. I think this is another suggestion where a mod or admin can just PM the member saying like slow it down or something. I doubt you have like 50 members a day doing this, so you'll be sending at most a 1 tim thing of 5 PMs.
