I dont know about you guys but I think it woul be a good idea to have a word sensoring box in the users profile so that they can type in the words that they dont want to see. And then type the words that will pop up instead of the words. Or they can just leave it blank and have the word be blocked out with *****'s. I think this is a good idea. It eliminates the reason for people leaveing of being cussed at and stuff.
I apreciate those who read this and voted and shared their opinion.
thanks

There is already a word censoring box in the admin panel, i believe that this is good enough because all of my users dislike the same words.

Voted no!

Well some people dont care for certain words. Others hate being criticised.
3 Darren1, on 14/12/2008 at 04h30
well, you can just have them in the censor list anyways, that's what i do.

Well in ur case id have every single word in the dictionary thats called a swear word in the filter.(which is no fun at all)

I beg to differ there Darren. You don't have to swear to have fun at all.

I'll admit, I swear like a trooper myself, however, I understand fully that it offends some people, and some of those people may be members at my forum.

What words would show to guests and those not logged in then
when they read the messages, the forum censoring or the members,
the idea of forum censoring is, so as not to insult the viewer and
what is shown in the forum is the responsibility of the forum owner
not the subscribers in other words he could loose his forum or be
lawfully prosecuted if it is used in the wrong way........ Wink .......musket

I do agree, but most of my users on the forum that has the swear word censoring say "i kill all the fun" because I censored 15 different words for 5 users.

Majority of my forums don't have it enabled, however I trust my users to sware when appropriate, and they censor it when they do.

Im still voting and saying no because of the fact its already there.

The word censoring from the admin panel is good enough. So I vote no.
