How will this help forumotion?
3 Darren1, on 01/02/2009 at 03h40
Are you suggesting that we have the option to upload same database information, and game maps
(games such as World of warcraft, age of empires ect.)

Even if there would be a poll, i would vote NO.

As this is a thread for suggestions for your forum it's not meant to help forumotion but to help with your own forum.

I know that couldbe86. What I mean is How will this suggestion help bring more people, make members happier etc.....

I would still Vote no.

uh, no to darren. Not GAMES, WC3 maps. Maybe some of you dont even know what WC3 is but look up w3c and w3x. It would not be hard to actually allow wc3 and wc3x maps. If it was accepted it would open forumotion to more people, in my opinion.
8 Guest, on 03/02/2009 at 02h42
well if we let users upload the maps, we would have to let them also upload other files that would be hard to add a filter too. This would spread the use and upload of illegal files . I say NO.
9 ElderKingpin, on 04/02/2009 at 13h12
wait. if w3c and w3x were allowed to be uploading why. Maybe you guys dont understand because no one that has replied to this forum has actually played WC3 before. If anyone understood what w3c or w3x was. They wouldnt be saying forumotion would allow "illegal uploadings" why dont you ask exactly what a w3c or w3x map is before you go saying forumotion has to allow illegal things

BESIDES!!! If forumotion were to allow this little uploading, it would broaden the path for more users, what if a WC3 map maker were to come a long and he needed a site? BAM forumotion is there, restricting uploading will only make the path narrower. See i got a good argument :wouhou:

ElderKingpin, just add a poll to your first post to get a fair idea of what others think about it.
12 :)tayne:), on 07/02/2009 at 05h53
yes that would be the best think is to add a poll ^__^
13 ElderKingpin, on 08/02/2009 at 08h23
then what. the mods decide if its a good idea or not?

I'd like this, cuz my friend is also facing the same trouble.
He'd like to upload Warcraft maps but he can't.
Thats a bad thing that will spoil the image of Forumotion.

While i wait for my question to get answered, im going to ask a few questions Razz.

1. When you scroll down to the bottom of your forum can everyone click that little *statistics* button?
2. Can moderators access the admin panel?
3. Is help.forumotion.com a forum from the forumotion thing :O
16 ElderKingpin, on 19/02/2009 at 21h43
so, its 50/50, whats the verdict?
17 :)tayne:), on 19/02/2009 at 23h15
sorry I voted no.
18 thunderboyx, on 19/02/2009 at 23h22
I voted no, because you can just upload your maps to a file hosting service.
19 ElderKingpin, on 20/02/2009 at 00h45
ya but WHATS THE DOWNSIDE OF THIS?!?!!?! I mean HONESTLY. uploading to another hosting service? its like saying forumotion cant do jack crud and you have to go to another free service that can do your bidding. Thats probably a bad example but still. It seems like forumotion can upload a lot of stuff except w3c and w3x just adding those two would reduce the hassle by half

I don't see the point in such a feature to be honest. It's a lot of work for a feature that only a small number of forums will use.

Voted no, sorry.

none of my members can upload avatars , i can't even upload one for them via ACP. Why... I've made sure that the avatar is in it's limits. this started just minutes ago. once you upload, they say nothing, it just goes blank. Only Topic Created.
