A better search

Hey Smile
I've been trying to use the search function here recently, but no offence, it's awful. It doesn't help in the slightest.
It just picks out one word of the sentence. Like I typed this in for example:
"How to promote your site"
And it picked out one word (site) and looked for threads that had site in the title Mad
It's a little frustrating, can we sort this out?

Thanks

Another thing they created with 'bugs' in it. I might have to write a list of all the 'bugs' Forumotion has.

Therefor, I am voting that I agree.

I voted Yes but in the 12mths I've been using Forumotion, I don't see any response to this suggestion and no interest whatsoever to improve the search and it's the lack of a decent one that is going to make me switch to something else Sad

The search functions are no better on our forums. Now that I have almost 250 members, they are starting to complain. How can we make the searches better on the forums as well. Also, any way to make the gallerys in our forums searchable?

Voted yes, but IMO it should be for all forums. The forumotion search system would have to be one of its greatest weaknesses.

I am now up to almost 300 members and the complaints are really coming in about the search function on my forum. Can a staff member please weigh in here?

I would say the search function is close to non-existing, how hard can be to find a working search engine? scratch

Voted yes, I know what you mean. I too get frustrated sometimes when this happens to me. That is why I don't use it and just create the thread I want to create.
