A forum that I'm registered on has been through several spam attacks recently, therefore I am suggesting this new idea called the "Anti-Spam System". Please read all of this topic carefully - all votes and opinions are greatly valued. Thanks.

What is the Anti-Spam System and how does it work?

The Anti-Spam System is an optional add-on to your forums that hopefully reduces spam. It only comes in operation if activated.

When posts contain numerous amounts of links, pictures and/or large amounts of characters, the Anti-Spam System will recognise that and therefore when the member clicks "Send", instead of submitting the message, it brings up an image verification which the member will need to fill in in order for the post to be submitted. If a member has under X number of posts, the Anti-Spam System will come into action.

The number of links, images, members' posts and characters can all be modified to your liking. The Anti-Spam System automactically disables itself for certain members if they reach above X number of posts. This system can be quite effective because a spammer would get very bored of trying to spam and would eventually just give up.

Moderators and administrators are exempt, regardless of what their posts contain.

What if the member spams after X number of posts?

There should be a list where you can add certain members/groups into the list and they should always have the image verification coming up.
