The title describes this. I think you should have the ability to disable certain sections of your forum from being accessed if the users account isn't old enough or they don't have enough post count.
This should also be integrated with ranks. Simply: If a user tries to join a group and doesn't have the required post count or account age, they can't.
Examples:
I believe this is a very good idea, and wouldn't hurt anything to be an option. A lot of people would use this very well.

- Johnny tries to visit the sub-forum, "15 posts and more". Johnny only has 11 posts, so Johnny receives the message, "You have to have at least 15 posts to view this forum." (it would be even better if we could add a custom error message to every individual forum when the user doesn't have enough posts to view the forum).

Johnny only has been registered for 11 days, so Johnny receives the message, "You have to have been registered for at least 15 days to view this forum." (it would be even better if we could add a custom error message to every individual forum when the user hasn't been registered long enough to view the forum).
- Johnny tries to join the group, "15 posts and more". Johnny only has 11 posts, so Johnny receives the message, "You have to have at least 15 posts to join this group." (it would be even better if we could add a custom error message to every individual group when the user doesn't have enough posts to join the group).

Johnny only has been registered for 11 days, so Johnny receives the message, "You have to have been registered for at least 15 days to join this group." ive seen this before but i dnt know how they did it and id tell you where but id get yelled at foradvertiseing lol it would be nice if there was an easy way to do this

i had thought you could do it manually but most dont know how for one and for two that has nothing to do with this this not restricting post count this is restricting access to forums and/or groups because of post and/or day count not restricting post count if you were confused i hope that clears that up

I don't think that's what he's suggesting, Darren.
I think he means the ability to be able to make it that only people who have a certain amount of posts, can view a particular forum, or join a group.
Or the ability to be able to make it that people who have been registered for a certain amount of days can view a forum/join a group.

Great idea, voted yes. The age resriction suggested might get refused though as ForuMotion is for all ages.

I love this idea.
I've seen this on other forums where the restriced forums are hidden until the member reaches a certain post count, and I believe they work very well for increasing activity on the boards.
That way it also allows loyal members the chance to post in hidden forums freely, rather than just allowing any old person access as soon as they register.

On other forums, I've seen this system implemented, and it works very well. I don't see it can't be implemented somehow on Forumotion.
