i'm assuming the points system adds up each user's points when he posts, and not when the forum loads from the database?
because a user that posts spam in a highly rated board (point wise) stays with teh same number of points even if i delete the message...
id like to see the points being removed if the message is deleted
and
id like to see the points being updated when i move messages around boards (be it a board with a positive award or negative points)
another question: negative points work right?
-10 to a specific board removes if we post there?
would be good to remove points from a user automatically when the message is moved to a negative board/ when the forum loads, so users dont post in the wrong board, just to up his points.

you should remove one of them

the double yes is me giving more importance to the answer that needs to be answered
5 ricmetal, on 11/09/2009 at 06h35
any chance this might be considered without the votes?

i think this thread has a point.. if you've read it carefully, this could help the management of your own forum..

yeah
sorry if i'm not that fluent verbalizing sometimes
just the idea of the thread is
that
using the current point system, a user can post on a +5 board. he posts, he gains 5 points. say, for instance, it's a spam message. if you are to delete that spam message the user stays with the same 5 points. if you move the message to the spam board (which is a -5 board) the user continues to have +5, but he should have -5.
i hope to get the techies' attention and see if they can fix this fast as i want to implement it on my forum

This idea should be done.. I think it's a great idea.. A good logic and sense.. Also, i wish that there is a way to edit the reputation points.. Because, even though i am an admin, i dont have the p0wer to manipulate the reputation given by a member except by giving him a negation of the reputation given..

I find that I like to vote in threads where the OP likes to make people who oppose them look bad by making horrible poll answer choices. I'm sure you can guess what I voted.

thanks for the post.
i now know that your vote is worth nothing towards the topic in question, only against the OP.

And yet, my vote is worth every bit as much as anyone else who chose "yes" regardless of how much you know.

I know this is kinda early to start off, but who ever said that early was bad?
How about we add on to the Points System a little. What I am suggesting we should do is have a Donation & Trade database for it. Users can go to another user's profile
