I suggest their Be a button in options that you can choose that will disable the post count for users so that when a users posts something, their "Posts:" will not rise.

Personally,I like the post count showing,as you know if the user is active enough in the forum.

No harm if it is an option though

Yes, but my users can gain cerain ranks with certain amount of posts, and they are gaining those ranks from post in a "Posting Games" section, and i want that to be their for fun, but for no further benefit of the users

Please one of you admins tell me what you can do

I vote no. I like having the post count. But what exactly do you mean?? Do disable the post count on certain forums? © phpbb has that. That would be nice on our forums too.

I think it is a good idea, you can then block the post count for "rank junkies" who post a lot of junk just to get a higher rank. In another forum I'm on, the admin did that to some rankposters and they never showed up again lol
And I also think it should be possible to turn off the post count in certain fores, but that's already filed under "probable suggstions" Smile

^no, he wants to be able to turn off a certain USER'S post counter Wink

I was going to make that suggestion today. I voted yes because I do not want to encourage spammers.

Also setting post counts in certain forms and disable it in other forums is a nice idea.

I voted no , if you say no posts count , that's make member get kinda mad at you and they will leave your forum.

I agree.. being able to set certain forums to not count posts, would be great. It would help curb the spamming, and encourage them to post more responsibly by posting in the threads that do count posts. Also, mixed with ranks, it sets people into a more serious mode and thereby makes the ranks for valuable to the members that actually deserve them.

So I vote YES to being able to set post counts in some forums, while disabling them in others.

They not talking disable posts for forum , they are talking about Posts Count button.

I suggest their Be a button in options that you can choose that will
disable the post count
for users so that when a users posts something,
their "Posts:" will not rise.

Not for forum. If you have that button , is as the same thing as deleting posts. If they are spamming , and you click on the button , the posts will not be counted right? But what User write is still there , so it will trash your forum if you don't delete it. So is it the same as Deleting posts.

i vote yes.. there are some sections in which i have forum games (spaming) and people will gain many many posts there.. wich is quite annoying

Actually, if you would read 8 posts up, Waddle wrote:

"NO, I MEANT CERTAIN forums POST COUNT. BUT CERTAIN USERS POST COUNT WOULD BE NICE, BUT THERES ALREAD A WAY TO RESET THEIR POST COUNT TO ZERO..."

So the poll is for forums, not a specific member or all members' posts. Wink

I've seen this feature on smf forums. It should be able to be implemented on phpbb.
This MOD allows board owners to set minimum (maximum) post counts required (allowed) to view or post in a forum. Until the user has obtained the minimum posts required to view a forum, the forum is invisible. If the user exceeds the maximum allowed then
I was wondering if freeforums can add a Forum permission that allows. A certain member with enough # Post count to enter the forum...So no1 below that post number can enter so they post more ~Thanks
