Characters in the messages: 15 999 characters (Including spaces)

Hi 'd like to propose the idea of a bigger limit to the charcaters we use in messages.
I oftenly have problems using only 15 999 in some threads(specially collections) that I update everyday or in posting NFO files that contain ASCII art in a code
Pls can this be done Smile?

I vote yes. It would be nice to allow more text, especially for writers who like to share their works.

I vote no,

a 15999 character long post is at least half a creen page, about 4-5 word doc pages

More is just cray affraid

your vote doesent appear :p
anyway try using ASCII art in some of your posts(like NFO files) and you will see how much they take Sad
That's why I propose this idea and I need aswell more charc.

Disagree - Posts are long enough already. Dont need more than 16000 characters

Dont know why I even vote anymore, none of our suggestions even get implemented. I voted yes though

i vote no. from my experience, members will often not read posts that are too long winded. It is not a necessary change as it is something that could be easily overcome by just spreading the article over a few posts.

Well for some forums it might be warranted--for instance i am a writer and there are writers on our site, and some of them share original works under that forum. Short stories are often longer than that. Thus, the solution would be to make this option available to the administrator, and be used at their discretion.

I would vote a third option.. only if the admin can set the limit lower than a new higher max. I personally don't need, nor want more characters as I cannot stand to scroll through endless long-winded posts. But, I see that others would like it, and could use it, so I'm not one to vote against their needs.

I agree but I dont need it.

Good for long stories or codes.

I voted yes since some messages need more space like html submissions

You know this is well needed. For instnace I need alot more space so I can put a price guide (the guide has a lot of coding with links to the miniature and its stat card) of the collectable miniatures that we have. There are 15 sets thus far and I dont want to make 15 different posts just to post a guide.

Those of you who voted no, arent looking at the good side of having this-as stated above I would have to make about 15 replies to one post to get the whole price guide done-that is insane. I would even pay like 5.00 a year!

Personally, I've rarely been bugged by the limit, but when I am bugged, it's a crack in my backside :/
I think I'll vote for a yes

I vote yes, seeing as it seems that the Admin(s) should have at least some control on things like this.

I would love this for my forum. We are an RP forum that requires this extra character limit for character/clan bios and the like. Something closer to...60k would probably do it. We require a great deal of detail for people that wish to make stronger characters. If anything, allowing admin to set the limit would be much better in my view. Those who don't agree with expanding it can at least agree with allowing the admin to set a limit, right?

Lets say 15,999 plus spaces is the current right?

You could make three options:
Low: 15,999
Medium: 30,000
Large: 45,000

I'd LOVE to have 60k, but 45k would be alot better than 15,999. That makes it very annoying and will cause people to make a lot of clutter on a topic that should only be one or two posts long.

Besides, anyone who is RPing should really be maxing out the buffer if they are just posting in a play by post RPG. The only time I have ever done such a thing was during character creation.

There's my 2 cents Very Happy

I vote yes.

Seems like a reasonable idea to me.

I am suggesting a Higher limit to HMTL pages. The current is 65,000 characters. Could we get an unlimited number of characters?
Well it seems we can only have 30 avatars maximum I think we should be aloud allot more who agrees?
The current limit is 4 billion if you exceed it... but why? Why should there be a limit? Every other non forumotion forum have no limits so why should forumotion? Please vote yes or no I vote yes of course
