The Rottie Mad Forum

Congratulations! Your free forum review has been completed. The forum review will hold many tips, suggestions, comments, and feedback that's convenient and voluntary for your forum. Here is your forum review:

Generalities

  1. First Impressions (Score: 14/20):
Ok, by the time I got on the forum, it got obvious that it's a specific forum for a specific dog which is already shown on the description of the forum, the banner is also what the forum makes specific, so that's a really nice first impression to know fast what the forum is all about, however, what I just noticed is that you had a very big banner, now, let's get further, I'll go secondly on the portal, the portal looks fine, and a bit organized because of little amount of widgets found there, I liked it that way having only small amount of news shown on the 'news' widget, that's nice, it doesn't look that the portal looks very long or expanded, the widgets on the middle part of the portal is nice, however, one thing I noticed looking negative there is the content you have on the header part is really a big image, but it doesn't matter on it, it'll look better if you center it even though if you don't make it smaller, centering it would look better, so just get that sorted, let go on to the index, I saw lots of pics there on the top part, those images are nice source of info for new members which only shows that the forum is for that particular dog on the pic, nice job! Now, to the middle part of the index, looking also however, there's lots of forums found there which lengthens the index, doesn't look nice though, but you look professional with having large descriptions on each of your forums, looks nice, other than that just get the things I mentioned sorted and it'll look better.

  2. Categories & Forums (Score: 4/10):
I saw you had lots of forums and even categories on the index you have on your board, doesn't look nice though, firstly, one thing that makes the index look full of forums is the subforums are shown on the index which definitely doesn't look good and professional, I would suggest you to hide it from the index, this will also help shorten your very long index, get that sorted, now, regarding the the set and amount of forums you have, they're also fine for the subject of the forum and the population of the forum, so that's just fine, now to the organization of all the forums and categories, I'm fully confused because there are lots of categories found there, I can't easily find which are the off-topic forums, every thing seems to be on place except your off-topic category (The madder's caffe) which should be placed on the bottom area as it doesn't really relate to the forum's main subject, so i would suggest you that one, now to the appearance of this criteria, this is where the worst thing I saw on the forum, I saw you had lots of categories on the index which is not really needed, I would suggest you to not create a category with only 1 forum on it, what's the purpose? I will just connect that single forum on other categories, doesn't look professional too as a category is created to hold 2 forums or more, so get forums combined and avoid having this one, it'll look better, trust me, so that's all here, just get those things fixed.

Graphic Design & Layout

  1. Graphics (Score: 10/20):
    Banner:
As I said from the first impression part, it looks nice that you had a very specific banner showing what the forum is all about by having an image of a specific dog for the subject of the forum, it's really a nice way of informing guests, I might still consider this a looking good banner since it's nice to be in a specific way, it's also nice you placed an information message about the forum on the banner, looks nice, the animated text doesn't matter, just one more thing as I also mentioned form the first criteria, it looks big, it'll look better if you'll make a bit smaller.(3/5)

    Navigation Bar:
The navigation are looking cute and looks nice for the forum content you have, I liked it, it matches with the banner you currently have which looks good! The shape and fonts there are good, however the dog image you have there hanging on the navigation bars looks poor in its quality, i don't like the white colors on it, I just suggest you to remove the white thingy colors, I think it'll look better.(3/5)

    Forum Icons:
Ok, from the images I saw on the forum such as the dogs on the top portion of the index are looking nice, as I said above, makes the forum look very specific to it's content, that's nice, now, the images you have on each forums are looking good, really relates to where they are however, they all have different sizes, that looks odd and unprofessional for the appearance of the forum, so I would suggest you to have images there that have same sizes! It'll look better, I also noticed that some have animation while some have none, so that doesn't look good either, I would suggest you to stick on images that doesn't have any animation, stick on 1 style, having different ones makes it look like a ghost town though, the forum icons are fine, so just get those sorted. (2/5)

    'Who Is Online?' Image:
The icon you have here is kinda same as the forums icons you have, It'll be better if you have different style from it although it looks good but it always good to have different ones.(2/5)

  2. Forum Layout & Colors (Score: 10/10):
The colors that forums has are violet and white, light colors work for the content of the forum, looks good though, violet looks really fitting for the forum, I don't prefer dark themes for the forum though, so it looks good here.

  2. Staff Groups / User Groups (Score: 5/10):
