May I tag?
2 Noctis, on 02/08/2010 at 14h36
Sure. Go ahead.
3 LostLegend, on 02/08/2010 at 14h41
As soon as I get this issue with not being able to see tags, sure.
(Going on another browser to see if I can fix it, currently nothing comes up...)
EDIT: Other browser says nothing is there at all. What's up with that?
I will use a custom template if I can in that case =.="

Excuse me if I seem so noobish, but what exactly are you trying to do with the "tags" Maybe I can be of some assistance to you?
Edit: Or I can have someone else do it, if you are having to much trouble with it.

(Talking about this in questions about reviews)
They basically do not appear, nothing shows up. Firefox says nothing exists and safari pasts nothing if I try and copy the empty space below "Template 1" and "Template 2". If someone gave the whole thing to me in code form, not hidden, by pm, I would appreciate it xD my computer may just be unable to see hidden tags!
-This review will be done by me eventually don't worry lol-
EDIT: Problem solved, Rok sent the review templates. Writing review.

Generalities
- First Impressions (Score: 15/20):
When I look at this forum, the first thing I think is Generic theme, not very well cropped banner (Theres a bit of white on it) and the navbar is not very exciting. However, scrolling down a bit more, looking at your widgets, I see some creative ideas. For example, you have a news widget which allows the members of the RPG to keep up-to-date with what is happening around them. Looking at the scrolling posts, I see most of the posts are from today. There are quite a few topics on the widget which means a lot of people post in one day.
Then I see the playlist which is not available in the UK. Moving on, looking at your important links, I cant help but feel this should be at the top or near the top of the forum. You have free points, how to advance ranks, things like that. This is especially helpful for new members who dont know what to do or if it is their first time roleplaying. Perhaps center the text also, to make it look better?
Then the navigation widget looks quite well done to me. Its spaced out, easy to read, good size text. This should be at the top of the forum too.
The staff list, with the absence of the usergroup (See bottom of this review) means members can still look up staff. You have links to each staff member which means they can be messaged in emergencies and such, but many people may not actually know what the different levels of staff are. They (the levels) seem to appear too similar to the high stats levels in the usergroups!
Word counter, useful. Shows you care about the word count.
An arcade? Thats interesting. Clicking on the link and following the forum though, I see that you have implemented links from the game websites (miniclip, Addicting Games, etc and made them into topics. While this is no bad thing, it makes the forum lag, especially in the topic. The scrolling affilates is a nice touch and you have a copyright widget.
The theme could be improved, despite all this. You have a touch of creativity over the whole forum but the generic navbar and Akatsuki theme set back the appearances slightly. I do like how you (Even though it is used on many other forums too) put the village logos on each village category/forum. The Amegakure logo is missing though and I know it exists.
If I noticed something though, many of the forums dont actually have posts for a while, especially around the bottom. Perhaps give people more of an incentive to post in these places?
- Categories & Forums (Score: 8/10):
Not that long, just fine for an RPG forum. You have a lot of registerations though. Some of the forum descriptions arent very well worded (For example: The Pawn Shop
Sell us you items, and get points in return.)
This may create a bad impression of the forum on people looking to join but these can be fixed easily. Not much else to say here, cool.
Mabye there is one thing. Do Moderators: Global mods have to be turned on for each forum? It creates a bit of clutter, seeing them. (You can disable this in acp display structure/hierarchy show mods on forum index no)
Highlighting a forum gives me a white and black image that seems too bright for the text that appears on it. Perhaps make it a darker image?

Banner
Needs fixing of the cropping. Nice image though, even if it isnt very centered to Naruto. Looks like some demon to me?
Navigation Bar
Generic. Could do with a naruto themed one. Looks ok-ish though.
Forum Icons
Generic but easy to read and tell if there is a new post, if it is locked, etc. This doesnt really have to be changed.
'Who Is Online?' Image
Six-Tailed Naruto. The image is narrow, but not too narrow. It is a nice touch on the forum and the background of that image matches with the rest of the forum. The glow on the Kyuubis skull gives it an eerie feeling. Cool.

I do not know why Great Lake is separated from the others (As Amegakure is a village itself, according to the description!) Other than that, the ordering of the widgets may need to be altered slightly (See further up the review) and yeah. It looks good. You have the rules in the right place, at the top of the forum, and such.

With 17 groups, there is certainly a large amount of varied members. (It is normal for RPG sites to have a lot of groups.) For instance, you have members that range from the Bijuu to The Lost. However, you dont seem to have all the Bijuu in your Bijuu group. The same also goes for the Seven Swordsmen.
To someone that has not joined the forum, they may wonder what the point of having the Level 1-level 4 groups are. However, upon clicking on these groups, you have detailed what the groups actually are. In essence, level 4 includes strong ninja (Sadly of which there is only one at the moment) and level 1 are weak ninja.
Ninja between each village is quite well-balanced. However, there seem to be many more ninjas in Konoha than the other villages. What I would recommend is to encourage new members to choose other villages.
- Staff Groups / User Groups (Score: 5/10):
You have no staff groups listed which means it would be hard for a new member to tell who is admin or mod to ask them for help. I would recommend putting them on so people who have problems with making characters or accessing the forum or somesuch can ask them for help.
Given the average score of 5 as I cannot see who the staff are. (Even if they are in a widget, this issue is addressed above.)

Calculating posts per member shows that you have around 27 posts per member. This isnt a very good ratio, even if your forum is only two months old. You have double the number of members of most forums yet the same amount of messages. Perhaps set up some more forum games or other events to give members more incentive to post, prizes for activity, that sort of thing. You however, have a forum for this so it seems like you are set on increasing post counts anyway. Nice.

You have set this so that the members in 48 hours are shown. This means I, as someone who has not registered, can only see who has been on within about two days. However, you have quite a large amount of members in 48 hours. I count About 57. Thats about ¼ of this forums memberbase. Very good work on the activity (I know how it feels when you run an RPG forum and over half of your members dont seem to log on again!) so congratulations on this aspect. This means (Apart from NPC, lol.) many of your members like to come back and roleplay or chat on the chatbox.
