Techies Work In Progress Notice

After reviewing most of the suggestions in the 'Suggestions for your forum' section, I think the number one thing members of Forumotion really want is to know what the Techies are working on. Alot of us members feel like we are spinning our wheels and getting nowhere.

It would be nice to see a locked topic on the main page listing what the techies are working on, and a few things on their upcoming list of things to do. The list in the Archives section seems extremely outdated, and most members don't think to look in an Archive for upcoming accepted suggestions. This will help in three ways..

1) Members will be more relaxed knowing that the techies are actually working on something.
2) Members will have something to look forward to.
3) The techies and mods won't feel like they are being bombarded with constant questions like, 'When is a techie going to come by?' and 'What are they working on?' and 'Are they actually doing anything about our suggestions?'

So I vote for a Work In Progress Section or Notice. Please? and Thank you. Smile

Please disregard the poll titled the same in the Support Suggestion Forum, as I posted it there first, and I think it may be the wrong forum. Embarassed

Awesome. I'd finnaly know what is coming in the next updates. We would all be able to track what are the updates that have been accepted, are wroked on, etc., in a simple click.

Absolutly yes, but for the

3) The techies and mods won't feel like they are being bombarded with constant questions like, 'When is a techie going to come by?' and 'What are they working on?' and 'Are they actually doing anything about our suggestions?'

People will probably go on saying, instead "When is this or that going to be finished?", "Why is this one still not completed", etc. lol

I agree.

I must say that this forum is very up to date and I like it that this does get updated periodically, It would be nice to know what is being worked on though.

i agree, but shouldnt this topic be in the "sggestions for the support forum" forum?
9 Guest, on 05/11/2007 at 04h31
I originally posted it there, but after re-reading the title of that forum and the description.. this really isn't a suggestion for the support staff as much as it is for the techies that put our personal forum suggestions to use.. or not. So..

I think it would have fitted either section Smile

I also think his is a great idea, let's ope the techies accept it though
11 AussieJay, on 06/11/2007 at 10h04

Bump!

I just went back through the archives.. again.. and honestly, I really want to know what is going on with our forums and updates, if anything. I love the people here, and congrats to Typlo for the new admin position, but it's beginning to feel as we've received all we're going to get.

With all these polls up, and several of them with a high volume of 'yes' votes, and as loyal members of Forumotion, personally I think we sort of deserve to know what's going on, if anything. I don't think any of us expect to be given completion dates, as things come up, but can we at least be shown that our suggestions are being either considered or completely ignored for a valid reason? Please, please, please... let us know what's going on. Sad

Bump!!!

This is due to the 3 pages worth of conversational comments regarding a cash mod. The votes are high for it in both the English, and especially the French forums...

Just wanting to know what is going on, besides little tweaks to our messages. Smile

I would like to have a cash mod as well.. but there are also other suggestions that have a rather high rate of votes for them, too. So this isn't just about the cash mod, it's about everything. My members are constantly asking me what new features, if any, Forumotion plans to incorporate, and I'm really getting tired of saying "I don't know". I put up an announcement in my own forum so that my members know what I'm working on, what's planned to be worked, and suggestions that have yet to be considered. It keeps them happy knowing that the staff is actually doing something and gives them something to look forward to.

Yes, I have been to several to other free boards, too, and all of them offer mods that exceed Forumotion's current RPG mod. I think it's pretty safe to say that most people stay with Forumotion over going to another forum because we are not allowed to transfer our database and we don't wish to lose what we've already started. While the staff here is rather nice, the service is....... While the new little upgrade to our 'quick reply' is nice, we were all fine with the 'quick reply' the way it was. It wasn't as much a priority to us as our multitude of other suggestions have been and are.

Please............... let us know what is going on, as alot of us on the English board do not speak French, and can't just jump over there to find out. Although I've read that they aren't getting any answers either. *sigh*

*Edit -
My apologies for sounding rather frazzled over this issue. While I am at my wits end over constantly telling my members "I don't know".. I do realise that this is a free forum, and one that does offer us something that most others do not.. free extra html pages, which I use and love. Thank you.
