Hello everybody
Today, I want to suggest this feature for forums. It's a unique password for the admin panel.
Currently we can put the option "Confirm password to administration access" in:
But, in this situation, if a hacker, "hack" (find our password) our forum, he/she can access to the admin panel, and do a "total destruction" in our forum. So, the suggestion is a new feature in PA => General => Security, a proposed name would be "Unique password for the admin panel".
The role would be, they have a unique password to access the administration panel, and without this password, the "hacker" can't access to the admin panel. Obviously, the administrator founder inform to the co-admins this password.
I think this is all. I think isn't necesary to tell, that the password can change the admin fundator of the forum.
I don't know if I have expressed well... You can tell me the dudes or comentarys (:
Bye.

Yeah, this would be a good way to limit the access to an important place like the ACP, and protect our forums as much as possible against an attacker.

No way
Because then, all the "hacker" has to do is get a lucky guess or whatever.
Added to that, if the password isn't personal, some people tend to have their tongues less loose then it should be
Too dangerous in my opinion

This I suggest, will be a second password. We will have the normal option (Confirm password to administration access) and this.
But the password I say, only know the admins of the forum, and if you put an admin, at least I trust him

Think about the current number of people who can't remember their password. If we add this feature, that number will double.

@ KingOfSports , i don't think its that people can't remember the password , there seems to be a fault somewhere in the forum makeup judging by the number of people who cannot get into their forum's including myself , when i setup the forum as with all sites i always write my signin name and passwords into a book

I don't think this would be very practical. The support forum receives hundreds of PM's a day about lost founder passwords and this would only increase the work load for the staff that have access to the tools to reset there admin panel.

Would be good protection, but as said before. The number of people which lose their passwords would atleast double.

If people could remember their passwords then it wouldn't be a bad idea

I can see the logic behind this idea, but I don't support it. I've voted no. Purely because people would forget their passwords twice as much and that it wouldn't really "protect" your forum better...
Just be careful of who you choose as your administrators and you'll be fine.

That is the best way you can protect your forum. Just watch who you make administrator, and like Base said, you'll be fine.
I think if you can't remember your password, and you have to have it reset by Typlo or MrMario, you shouldn't have another password to remember. Typlo is busy enough, he doesn't need a another work load of password resets.
=> Vote: No

You will not get any support here. This is not the correct section.

I'm not so sure about this though. I like it, but I don't. I won't vote because I'm not sure. Sorry though.

So, what do you think? Same like Admin CP, just less features! For exapmle, you have GFX Mod, and he will have only Styles in his "Moderator CP"!
So I promoted the member to rank of admin, she logged out and back in. Her profile says admin but she can't see the link
suggestions?
I trust some people to do as i tell them, provided there isn't anything they can mess with and break so when i want a certain person to create a forum for me when i'm busy it can only be an admin instead of a mod,
There should be maybe two or three
