if someone or u deletes someones account it should delete all the posts and or topics they made. not say annonymous

I can see your point, but I voted no, becasue people in the future might want to read the thread and it would be a bit odd to read a thread where half of the conversation/replies are missing and thus it does not look complete at all.

yes i agree he aswell
or though my old old old forum a year ago got read of posts when user went.

I disagree, what happens if your "deletie" had 50% of posts on your forum?
4 zinex, on 21/11/2007 at 12h24
i think it should be an option...say you have a spammer that has done 50 posts before getting caught (joining early hours of the morning) thats a lot of posts to find and delete. If it was a choice you could have then i would say yes.

This is the suggestion board for "all" forums. And I don't think the Techies is going to add "ONE" mod just for you?

i wish the techies would LOL i have heaps! I might suggest that.... Laughing

One, the techies work for all forums.

Two, I can get behind that suggestion of no anonymous but I can see that the thread would look empty and useless if that person was a good poster. I would additionally propose that we eliminate the "Deletion" button all together and instead implement a self ban. That way they can't come on the forum anymore and the posts are in tact. We as admins can always change the name of the user to something more appropriate.

I voted yes.

Things go awry when the control is not in the Adim's hands.

i didnt mean it would only be an option for my forum

it would be an ption for everyone but those who dont want to dont have to use it

no, i think is a bad idea
cause even if he posts something bad, i can lock the topic or anything else
but i don't want that his/ her posts to be erased, cause... maybe not all of them are spam

Yes, this is a good idea because when a spammer spams your forum, it'll be so simple to easily deletehim and you'll know that all his spam got deleted with him. Otherwise, you need to delete post by post =(

I wote no. This idea kills the idea of archive in my forum. Members collect ideas to archive and it would be a disaster if old messages from archive went bye bye. Evil or Very Mad
Its better to leave this job for admins. Wink

With me my opinion is mixed because it depends on the member involved. If this was a spammer it would be good especially if all their posts are nothing but spam. But if it is a member who has contributed and got banned and deleted suddenly, then it's a bad idea. Voted Don't Know.
15 djblalock, on 04/04/2009 at 02h52
I think that the option means if someone is a COMPLETE spammer... like never made any posts that aren't spam, that you can have an option to delete all their posts..... not HAVE to delete all the user's posts.... but if you need to......

And if thats not what it means then theres what i think it should be Wink

Good idea, it would be good to at least have this as an option. So when a member is deleted you can choose to delete there posts or keep them.

But then again,if there is a really great member who deletes his/her account[for this to happen, the admin set the user option so members can unsubscribe},or an admin, the post will be missing...

I voted no.

And Zinex, that's the fun of moderating, broswing through the forums, and deleting spam, ect.

As an option, Yes.
19 ricmetal, on 12/05/2009 at 16h32
ino deleting an account shouldn't mean delet posts.
imo it should mean, keep posts, and show "deleted" as the username
and then have the option to mass delete all posts by a user and keep the user intact (or banned)

just keep more choices here
