Rating - Poor

I landed on the Portal page of your forum, so I will review the first impressions of this first and then will review first impressions of the main forum page. First off, the page is too busy itself and there is a lot of information that can be placed other places. It states the words: The official Keeping Up Appearences Fan Club too many time on the home page, once someone visits they know where they are, so there is no need to restate the information alot of times. Secondly, the images look like they've just been placed there and there hasn't really been an effort to choose colors. The pink doesn't work well with the blue background at all, and they are annoyingly 'large' when you see them placed how they are; just in a rectangle. I'd suggest that you maybe make them have rounded egdges, and that you don't put an image on both sides just to write Fan club home on it. Furthermore I suggest that you look into the possibilities of different fonts and different ways to present your information. For example, You can put the main cast and the Basic information onto a JQuery Tab system. Find out more at www.htmldrive.net; and also you can make the tables not have a border, so that the information looks nicely placed instead of seeing that it's in a table, and most likely you could fit three images to a row on the main cast, so if I were you i'd take advantage of that too. Also, your rollover links turn bright green and really hurt my eyes. The first impression on your main forum is the same, a bunch of colors that don't mix well together and then some huge images. I don't mean to affend you by any of this, it is just my opinion.

Banner: For your forum I dont see a real need for a banner, or if not a banner the main text. Plus, there appears to be two banners to your website; one which is at the very top and then one that says Welcome to the Forum Page. I'd reccomend making the banner just text with a transparent background and removing the text to the right of it so it makes it easier to read and see, and then someone doesn't end up reading it twice. All it'd need to say is: Keeping Up Appearances Fan Club; followed by a new line in italics saying: approved by producer, in a different font, because Times New Roman gets boring after a while.

Forum Images: You need a new navigation bar, because all of the links on it right now are too close together and it goes onto too many lines. Try and make one of your own that has drop downs, or hire someone to make them like that; because the shorter the navigation bar the better it is for someone to see and read it, plus right now there is no Hspace between any of the images so it looks like it is all one word. I read the navigation bar as: "homeforumcastcrewepisodesstageshowsoundslinksguestbookbackgroundsshopchatboxcontact uscalendargalleryfaqmemberlistusergroupsuser control panelno new pmsstatisticslogout. Its too close together, and I reccomend changing it to the following:

I'd also remove the banner that says welcome to the forum page, because everyone knows that they are on the forum page. Furthermore, your New Posts no new posts is too big and it is hard to read. I'd suggest making them icons without pictures of the cast. Then I'd also suggest changing from the original forumotion icons to your own icons. Your Ranks are also too big too, make them smaller so that others can see them without it taking up most of the post space.

Background: I like that your background is tiled, however It doesn't flow with the rest of the forum colors. IT needs to be upgraded so that it flows with the blues that are in the forum.

Other: You need to workout on the layout of your images, becuase they are all stacked together in a weird way, and it doesn't look very good at all.

When I visited, I was the only member online, however there were only about 20 members connected of your full 301 members in the last 2 days. This isn't good, because for a forum of 300 members you'd want more than 15% of them logging in every two days, and what adds to this is that many of your members logged in over the 48 hour span are moderators, and not proper members.






Rating - Average


I think that 3 admins for a forum of your size is alot, and for your activity you probably won't need that many; unless some of them help design the forum. Otherwise i'd suggest not hiring mre for a while.

Moderators - There's no need for your admins to be in the moderator and admin group, because as an admin you are also a moderator, so there's no point keeping them in both.

Theres no point of having a member of the month group. I'd suggest just having it a rank, and then passing the rank onto others, and then making an announcement






Rating - Good


I like how you made the attempt to make all of your forum images (almost all) and also made the attempt to make a forum that noone else has made before, because I haven't seen this kind on any other forum I've reviewed. This is a good thing, so keep it up. Thanks for requesting.

Thanks for reviewing, and yes it is a forumotion forum, but i have bought everything for it so nobody can see that it is from forumotion.

First impressions:
I am shocked at this, i was expecting better, especially when comparing with other websites. You don't land on a portal page, it is a HTML page.

Graphics and layout:
It might not be your ideal, but it is what my members like. Also it is the colours affiliated with the television show.

Forum Activity:
This is also better than it usuallly is, and is better than many other website's of similar topics.

Staff and Usergroups:
I feel that this is fine, 3 admins (me, one best friend, and another member with great ideas). Some maybe members of moderator group as they have been a moderator in the past.

Originality and uniqueness:
Glad this is good as i want it to be unique.
