I mean first a user registers and gets the activation code and after they activate their account then it goes to a mod to get approved and the mod can VIEW THE IP OF THE ACCOUNT REGISTERATION.This will handle spam and and the mods will know that which ip was used to create a particular account.

oh so the forumotion mods mean to say that it has to separated EXACT 24 hrs later and not even one split sec before that WOW then thats extremely dumb.

I'm voting no here - I'd say it's more of a deterrence then prevention of spam.
For example, I go to a forum, have an opinion and if I like the forum, I stay.
Now, if I have to wait say for example, 48hrs before I can even be activated, I aint going back, in fact, I'd prob never want to go back unless I was really interested in that specific topic.

We also now have a built-in anti-spam feature -- for example, type in the word "Viagra" it's common to spam bots, and rather being posted, you have to verify your a human and now a spam bot - then you can post it; Spam bots are programmed well enough to see that coming Very Happy

If it's a human spammer, that doesn't help; they can use proxies, and a seemingly good email (For example darren1[at]hotmail.com rather than iwanttospamyou[at]hotmail.com) your going to verify them, and guess what; they just spammed you.

Unfortunately, for this to happen, we would have to have the ability to View the P address of a person upon registration first, and that at the moment isn't possible, so that specific suggestion has to be approved first, rather then this one Wink

ok well thats the way how you think and i believe thats not the only option thats going to exist thats going to be optional.Now on some forums they are normally having fihts with other forums so now to prevent their forum from being spammed and a decrease of points then they will need this option and i mean no mod will take 48 hrs just to approve a user because if they know the ip of the user and ifs good to go then the admin will approve the account.BUT sometimes people use fake email accounts now if they are using a proxy and they DONT KNOW THE IP THE EMAIL ID CAN BE VERY USEFUL BECAUSE THEY CAN FIND OUT WHICH EMAIL ID IS SUSPICIOUS AND GET BECOME ALERT
