remove the code and btw what was your message maybe we can fix it for you
2 kirk, on 15/05/2011 at 08h44
you must have edit out a code or something you had in there?
it's hard to tell what you did with out having the forum link and knowing what you had in there to begin with?

always copy things the original way to a notepad or text file first,
This way if you do make a mistake with something you can always go back and retrieve the original coding/content you have in there.

exactly so what did you type in or what is your forums url
4 Suuki, on 15/05/2011 at 19h50
Yeah, this is just weird!
I always keep a copy of my codes, but the thing is, I wasn't messing with my css. I'll try to figure this out myself, too, because I do understand that you can't get an easy answer for things like this.....

Oh yes! and here is my forum.

I'll take one last look at my css...but I have a feeling it was something I selected in the ACP because that was what I was doing atm.
5 Suuki, on 17/05/2011 at 05h11
Ok, so I took a look at my CSS and nothing looked bazaar, but I am now 99% sure it was something I did in ACP. I was editing General and Display at the time and only noticed the homepage message after I edited it.
Now I will take a look at my ACP...

Hi,

Were you making any template changes, if so was it just the index_box?
7 Suuki, on 17/05/2011 at 06h18
actually, I was.....
Also the overall header and footer.
8 Darren1, on 17/05/2011 at 06h23
No issues at all Smile
Simply restore it to default ( Hit the X) and start again.
The code for the current date & time is
<td valign="bottom">
<!-- BEGIN switch_user_logged_in -->
<span class="gensmall">{LAST_VISIT_DATE}

{CURRENT_TIME}

</span>
<!-- END switch_user_logged_in -->

you can modify around that if you wish Smile

If you like, I can assist you, just let me know what you want to do Cool

The header & footer shouldn't interfere though ...
9 Suuki, on 17/05/2011 at 06h32
Ok, so I'm back on default. One question, should it help if I reinstalled the them because I tried and it didn't change anything...
10 Darren1, on 17/05/2011 at 06h37
Hmm, it's worth a try, and if it doesn't work, simply restore the theme to 3 days ago via the utilities http://www.forumotion.com/en/utils/
11 Suuki, on 17/05/2011 at 07h03
Ok, so I tried it and I went back to even May 13, nothing changed (except some other things I did). Basically everything changed except my problem! This is getting creepy...
12 Darren1, on 17/05/2011 at 07h37
That's alright, I'm going to attempt to find the css code for phpbb2 for the time/date just to have a test.
Go back to your template Index_box
Do you immediately see

<table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="0" align="center">
<tr>
<td valign="bottom">
<!-- BEGIN switch_user_logged_in -->
<span class="gensmall">{LAST_VISIT_DATE}<br />
{CURRENT_TIME}<br />
</span>
<!-- END switch_user_logged_in -->
<div class="nav"><a class="nav" href="{U_INDEX}">{L_INDEX}</a>{NAV_CAT_DESC}</div>
</td>
<td class="gensmall" align="right" valign="bottom">
<!-- BEGIN switch_user_logged_in -->
<a class="gensmall" href="{U_SEARCH_NEW}">{L_SEARCH_NEW}</a><br />
<a class="gensmall" href="{U_SEARCH_SELF}">{L_SEARCH_SELF}</a><br />
<!-- END switch_user_logged_in -->
<a class="gensmall" href="{U_SEARCH_UNANSWERED}">{L_SEARCH_UNANSWERED}</a>
</td>
</tr>
</table>

If not, do you see this?
<!-- BEGIN catrow --><!-- BEGIN tablehead --><table class="forumline" width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="0">
<tr>
13 Suuki, on 18/05/2011 at 01h03
Yeah, I see the first one.
14 Suuki, on 18/05/2011 at 03h27
woah....ok, this is REALLY creepy.
I made a test forum for just to make sure. So I reinstalled the theme and it was still messed up! D:
15 Suuki, on 19/05/2011 at 03h37
bump, why does my forum change on it's own????!?!?!?
16 Darren1, on 19/05/2011 at 04h07
Sorry about the delay, I'm working extremely long back to back shifts and I'm quite tired.

What I don't get s that you have the applicable code, yet it isn't displaying?

Just for a test; Can you restore the theme back to default (But save a copy of it!!)
Admin panel >> Display > Choose a theme > Version > Use default theme > Save.
Check if the date is now applying, and if it is, apply the theme you currently use.

If the date still doesn't show up, use a skin from the "themes" option, their basic, but all also incorporate the default values.
If then, it still isn't displaying, the issue is with your CSS Not displaying it, and Ill have to find the code for you.
17 Suuki, on 20/05/2011 at 06h21
The date is now showing up, but it is in the wrong place still.
18 Darren1, on 22/05/2011 at 03h21
Sorry about the delay Sukki,

I think I've figured out the issue, is that big clock with the sun/moon from the homepage message, or templates?
It might be easier to insert it via templates, which I believe would restore the time & date back to it's default time.

If you con provide me the code that it's currently using, I can divy up the best way to have the time & that clock. I can't promise you that Ill have the time in the perfect spot, but Ill try my best Wink
P.S. It's my day off work for the week, so I'll be 'round here Mr. Green

Ok, thank you. The code for the current homepage message is:
Code:
<div style="text-align: left; margin-left: 40px;"><img src="http://i26.servimg.com/u/f26/15/26/54/38/clock-10.gif" alt="" border="0"><span style="color: Orange;"></span><font size="5"><span style="font-family: Comic Sans MS;"><span style="font-weight: bold;"><span style="color: Black;"><span style="color: Magenta;">Welcome To The Town! </span></span></span></span></font><br><font size="5"><span style="font-family: Comic Sans MS;"><span style="font-weight: bold;"><span style="color: Black;"><span style="color: Magenta;"></span></span></span></span></font><font size="5"><span style="font-family: Comic Sans MS;"><span style="font-weight: bold;"><span style="color: Black;"><span style="color: Magenta;"></span></span></span></span></font></div> <img style="visibility: hidden; width: 0px; height: 0px;" visibility:hidden;width:0px;height:0px;="" src="http://c.gigcount.com/wildfire/IMP/CXNID=2000002.0NXC/bT*xJm%0A%3Cimg%20style=" border="0" height="0" width="0"><div style="" center;="" margin-left:="" auto;="" visibility:="" visible;="" margin-=""></div>
20 Darren1, on 23/05/2011 at 12h52
Hm, I'm unable to replicate the issue at this point, though, Im working on about 5 hrs sleep over 48hrs Mr. Green

Are you sure your templates are set at default and there's no codes in the site description. Admin panel >> General > Forum/config > Site Desc.
Could you also check for any codes in the scrolling announces?
Admin panel >> General > Announces.

Sorry for taking so long to figure this out, it's stumped me.

EDIT: How about this as a possible solution.

Head to the message where u got the clock and such from, copy & remove it.
Paste into a word document.

Head to your templates; index_Box, locate the following code:
<!-- BEGIN switch_user_logged_in -->
<span class="gensmall">{LAST_VISIT_DATE}<br>
{CURRENT_TIME}<br>
</span>
<!-- END switch_user_logged_in -->

Highlight it, save it to a notepad document.

Now, head back to the template index_body, you should pretty quickly see this 2 lines
<!-- END message_admin_index -->

<!-- BEGIN switch_user_login_form_header -->

paste this in the space
Code:
 <div style="text-align: left; margin-left: 40px;"><img src="http://i26.servimg.com/u/f26/15/26/54/38/clock-10.gif" alt="" border="0"><span style="color: Orange;"></span><font size="5"><span style="font-family: Comic Sans MS;"><span style="font-weight: bold;"><span style="color: Black;"><span style="color: Magenta;">Welcome To The Town! </span></span></span></span></font><!-- BEGIN switch_user_logged_in -->
         <span class="gensmall">{LAST_VISIT_DATE}<br>
         {CURRENT_TIME}<br>
         </span>
         <!-- END switch_user_logged_in --><br><font size="5"><span style="font-family: Comic Sans MS;"><span style="font-weight: bold;"><span style="color: Black;"><span style="color: Magenta;"></span></span></span></span></font><font size="5"><span style="font-family: Comic Sans MS;"><span style="font-weight: bold;"><span style="color: Black;"><span style="color: Magenta;"></span></span></span></span></font></div> <img style="visibility: hidden; width: 0px; height: 0px;" visibility:hidden;width:0px;height:0px;="" src="http://c.gigcount.com/wildfire/IMP/CXNID=2000002.0NXC/bT*xJm%0A%3Cimg%20style=" border="0" height="0" width="0"><div style="" center;="" margin-left:="" auto;="" visibility:="" visible;="" margin-=""></div>

now, save & Publish the template.

Do you see it now?
If so great, I just have 1 minor modification left to make Lol

Also, Gangstar15 has confirmed that there's no CSS code for PHPBB2 for the time to display.

EDIT2: Ive got an idea, and a bucketload of ways to do it up, I just want it how you currently had it, but can't quite got there just yet, but I need some sleep. See you tomorrow!

EDIT3: I won't attempt those idea's until you can confirm the above works Wink
