Forum - Strange Banning Issue

For some reason members of my forum are having issues getting on the forum. It is telling lots of them they are banned when they are not. I only have about 3 people on my banned list and i am obviously aware of who they are. Its a strange issue but one i need help with please

I have this idea,when your a moderator of a chatbox on a forum,the mod can use a code to ban a member for a certain time period,instead of banning them,and having to unban them.
Example:
Code:/ban/{time limit for the ban}
Replies 1 to 4 on 4 for "Forum - Strange Banning Issue"
