Points not getting calculated correctly?

Sorry for another thread, but I am HAVING so many problems.
The problem here is how the points add up. I put the points to + 5 for a message, and a topic. However, when a user goes to a message and types something it only gives them one point and not the 5.
Did I have to do something after I hit save?

Point system does have problems here and there. Techs can't figure out what's going on.

Abit disappointed to here that their is no fix, as a point system is a very useful tool to have on a forum.
