Hi! I have a Harry Potter RPG forum, and I was wondering, since I have my ranks as student years, is there any way to restrict certain boards (like say hogsmeade) by rank? that way only 3rd years and up (in rank) can go there at all?
I would really appreciate the help! Thanks in advance!

Not by rank, but by usergroups.
Make an usergroup for each rank. Then set up the forum permissions for those usergroups.

ok thanks! i'll haveto switch my ranks and groups since i have the 4 houses as groups, i guess i'll have to do them by rank, unless you can be in more than one group at a time??

For example:
If "Year 3" required 500 posts, then you already have a rank for it. Simply create a group that members will be automatically added to when they have 500 posts. Of course, you can hide this group. This gives it the illusion of ranks dictating ability to access these sections.
For another example:
If there was a section for one House (Slytherin) who need to be Year 2, then those in Slytherin and Year 2 can access this section. Just as an example of being in more than one group, because this does not apply to this example well as I will tell you. Be careful though, because then those in Slytherin but not Year 2 can still enter. This is something Forumotion should fix-- to make members maybe need to be in all mentioned groups to see a specific forum, and not just any one of them. Of course, this would be toggled by maybe a checkbox under each situationthing in advanced permissions.

I think it would be neat to have sections for only guys (those that entered their gender in as male) and sections just viewable by girls (those that have their gender set to female).
~~ My apologies if this has been suggested already, I did a search and couldn't find anything. ~~
Hi,
I'd like to suggest that if an administrator enables it, then we should be able to have a separate banner for separate individual boards. There
