hello , CAN I STOP GUESTS PM'ING ALL MY MEMBERS WITH SPAM ?

hi , every few weeks me and all my members all get some sort of spam , it seems i can stop members mp'in till the have some posts but can see how to stop these spammers , iny ideas ? thanks d

Guests should not have the able to use the pm system.

Did you mean that Guests can send pm ?

Guests should not be able to send PMs in any way. The only way a guest could contact you through PMs would be to use the contact form; but even then the message would only reach admins or admins and mods, not members.

It could be possible that it's a registered user who sent the PMs and then delete their account off the forum.

this is the one i got today , i was under the inpretion it was going to all members but could just be the mods as there more likly to let me know . ether way i dont want it

Hello,

The PM you got is a PM that gets delivered to the forum administration after a guests decides to use the 'Contact' button on the bottom of your forum. Very good

To disable it AP > General > Messages and emails > E mails & Contact form > Contact form activate > NO

Yes, and you can tell it's from the Contact form because of the 'Contact' prefix to the message. Smile

Follow Nera's instructions to disable it.
