How to fix forum?

It all started when I changed my phBB2 forum to phBB3 via "Choose a theme" > "Version" tab. And I added the CSS code to remove the search box from the forum. Then I changed my mind and switched back to phBB2.
From there I attempted to change the forum color and icons, which changed the entire forum layout. The forum looked completely messed up afterwards. I had to restore the theme to its previous state. Changing the most basic of settings (such removing the forum text below banner) screws up the theme. I am no longer able to customize my forum without the layout destroying itself.
Forum restore doesn't seem to work... Please help.

Just install a new phpbb3 skin from hitskin.com !

I had this problem too. I made another forum with a different url and when i customize it just like i wanted, i changed its url to the old one(that had problem) and the new forum messed up. I solved my problem with changing of url. sorry for bad english

Will this fix the issue globally? For example, if I switched back to my old skin, would the issue come back?

I do not know why, but it seems the issue was solved by itself. Maybe all I needed to do was leave the forum alone for while. Thanks anyways!
