Is it possible to activate post numbers in posts? Basically so that each post lists its post ID.

In PunBB it's there by default. I'm not so sure if it's possible in the other versions though.

Nope.
phpBB3 does not have template editing. This would make it even harder to accomplish.

Just a little something that a prefer, although there is probably be a way I can implement it myself.

Is it possible to view each post (#number) in a thread? (Or can this already be set from admin panel?)
My reasons:
I'm not a great lover of "quotes" especially long quotes when replying to one particular post or more from
Trying to scrape from TVDB yields strange results or errors if the television show in question has a number in its title. Some examples of what I've encountered.
(My Folder structure always follows this pattern O:\TV\Show Name\1\101 - episode
Replies 1 to 7 on 7 for "Post Numbers"
