I think it would be a good idea if we could allow moderators to lock individual posts to prevent them being edited by the original poster. This would help in the event of a moderator changing a post etc.
What do you guys think?

i dont get why we cant have things that arent really "needed" when they dont affect you in any way. this is an actual good idea to preserve posts from being messed up and causeing flame wars on forums unless your the person doing so?
it wouldnt hurt to have these features added to the forum. because right now its what keeps these free forums from going beyond. the forumotion forums are already the best. why stop to let the others catch up when these small things can be added. and even if they were im sure you would be aloud to turn them on or off.

Sorry i had to vote No on this one
Why ?
we already have a setting in our forums To time limit the edit botton so why not just use that for your members?
i time limit my members to 1hr and from then on a staff member will have to edit there posts that way if a staff member edits some ones post they cant do nothing once that 1hr has pasted.
my staff are also asked to put in that post why they removed a link/ text /pic if a staff member don't do so they will be dealt with.

I believe that if you start the topic you should be able to lock it. As well Admins, Mods, etc will be able to lock also.
EDIT: as COR3 has said we should have the opition to enable it on our forums.

I've come up with this idea that we should allow users to lock their own topics, if rights are enabled by the admin. Therefore, examplify I was in this forum's suggestion section and I suggested a penguin on two feet and another user came along and says
