I had to do one. It's simply a nostalgia over here. Drogba and Rideem kinda moved me somewhere not visible for other members. I am to lazy to use any kind of templates. All you need anyway is just the text I'm going to type.

Decoy Dragon Academy Review

I have officially entered the forum. Guess the Decoy isn't where it is suppose to be, might have ran away, or you just might want to change your name to Arcana Knight Joker Academy. Just noticing the obvious, you're not following your own name. You should at least keep the little thing somewhere on the banner because it is a mascot of your forum. Take a look at forumotion support forum banner. Is there Super Mario or their own mascot? I honestly hope you get the point of this problem. Also, the name should be not on the render, but on the sides where it's more visible.

Now I am ought to criticize your design. There are not much things to praise. I'd rather skip them and get to the points you should fix rather than keeping them there. First of all, for God's sake, Phpbb2 time is over. You should switch to invision, punbb or phpbb3. Not only that you have 1000 time more options to make your design more appealing, but you can use templates and easily manipulate with templates and CSS. What you have now is a pure simple "choose your color" skin. I don't want to offend you, but you can always find more appealing skins on hitskin.com. The banners you have in your forums' description seem quite well done, but there are two things I would suggest. Remove the text that is on them because you already have it in forums' names. I don't see the point of stating something twice. Also, I'd remove the widgets and make those banners more wide. You can always make a fixed width skin, take measures of the columns and make banners that size. It is much better way and you'll be sure that they will fill whole columns because the width of the column will be fixed for all screens. Also, I'd choose something else for background. Too much black is too much black. You need more creativity put in it, that's why I have suggested that you should change forum version. There are more options for it. Keeping all details good will for sure keep your forum on higher standards. Moving on to the forum icons. I don't think they are doing their function. They are suppose to be showing new and old messages in a forum they stand next to, but they should do it in a way that you don't have to concentrate to notice the difference. I say that you should go with the color difference, not text difference because eye will always pick the color up first. That's why the images are usually made that way.

I think I have said enough about design. You can always find some inspiration on internet. I suggest that you should remove widgets on the right side. If you use punbb you'd be able to put all the banners and recent topics in forum footer or before statistics by simple template editing. That way you'll make your forum more wide, which means less scrolling while reading the posts, which means much easier reading and posting, which leads to more posts and members on the forum. If you want to keep them, though, or you are unable to code properly even with the help of support forum, then you should remove the portal because all that you have there is same content on the forum. Also, this thing needs to be smaller (http://fc08.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2011/281/3/6/duelist_kingdom_tournament_by_otakucyrus-d4c5pir.png), honestly, no one is blind to skip the banner of even smaller size. Now, let me help you with shortening the index to reasonable amount of forums. Rules, announcements and new user guide can be just one sub forum. You don't need to open so many sub forums that make things so much complicated. Make the new user guide all in one topic and stick it in rules and announcements. Also, you can put testing results as sub forum of Testing lobby. You can make one forum that will be named "dorms", put in the same category as testing lobby, and add all sub forums to each of them. Also duel arena, tournaments and wars should stick with the lobby in a category that would be about your academy. I'd make category "YuGiOh" that would contain deck district, card discussion and as well questions and answers on rulings, News and Gossips, Anime Talk (YuGiOh only). This way you will widen your own horizons for discussions which will lead to less boredom on the forum and more things to read and post about. You will make you index more compact and more functional if you add birthdays to off topic forums and all gfx forums, as sub forums, to one forum and then add that forum to category Off topic. I don't get the point of General Discussions and Off topic, that is the same thing. I honestly think that you should work on your organization and I think it can be done much better. Remember that you should keep ONLY things that are about your forum on index and try to use less space for things such as GFX and Off topics. I'd not give you high marks on organization because there is much to work on.

Your activity is solid, I don't want to comment about it nor I have time now. I think that you should try to make your forum more professional. If you follow my advice you'll do it, I have a forum with more than 3000 members and it is still running smoothly, I was a reviewer here so you should at least believe at what I have stated. I mean no harm, I was a fan of YuGiOh. Good luck!

Thanks, you have just wasted 1 hour of my life. As far as the rules state, there's no problem with 2 reviews. -.-

I have the review saved, don't worry. I edited it back in since you obviously want it more than me Smile

To be totally honest with you, I found this review to be offensive. The banner was chosen because of the recent tournament we had. I also think you should have read the OP. I believe I asked for an official reviewer. Sombody who can give me a grade. Also, I put a lot of work into this theme, all you did was tell me how bad and simple it was. I don't want things to be complicated for my members, simplicity is the idea behind it. Also the text in the banner is very well done. I take a lot of pride in the banners we have. Go visit some of the other academies, world dueling academy and advanced duel academy, their themes are very poorly organized and the themes are unstable. I'm also using phpbb2 so I can edit the templates and actually some very specific reasons. I don't think you put a lot of thought into your review and I think your just stepping all over my design. You also, tried to make me look bad by saying how good your forum is with 3000 members. I delete the inactive members, you probably don't.

Yes, sorry to be a bother, but that would be much appreciated.
I would specifically ask for it to be done by Drogba, Rideem, or Empire

I can give you a grade, well i could. Was here in the team doing the job.
The thing is, such simplicity is no good. You need more details, they are small details like borders, shadows etc. That's why I suggested punbb, it has template editing. And I honestly don't see how you changed your template. And simplicity for members isn't when you have subforums for birthdays and much of off topic, that is complicated. I'm sorry for not bringing up good stuff, like activity, but that's not the point with the reviews. It's to say what is maybe wrong and what should be changed not to tell you what is good so you can be proud of it. The reference was just to tell that I am a bit longer in this waters and that maybe I know a bit more than you do, nothing else.

It was just an honest opinion, sorry you didn't like it.

Decoy Dragon Academy has had lots of experience with Invision and punbb. We decided to move away from the more complicated designs because it was too hard to edit. I was constantly fixing it. I would put in a code and it would mess up something else. I don't have very much experience when it comes to CSS so I do the best I can. Anyways, I do apologize, I was having a terrible day when I replied to you. I think any criticism would have set me off, while I do not accept your review, I think it helped me understand, but the last three reviews I got were done my members, not staff. So I wasn't able to have that forumotion badge that I could display on the portal or something. I've been settling for reviews done by members and I will not do so any longer. I've asked twice so, I'm going to try not to accept any reviews that are not done by an official forumotion staff member.

No More Arguing.

Review considered Complete. Please Request another review next time, since Veljko was an official reviewer previously.

I did request an official review, I specifically asked for an official reviewer. Veljko is no longer an official reviewer. Plus, I was not arguing, I was simply speaking to Veljko in a debativeness manner. I really would like you to review my website, and I reallly would like that badge that comes with the review. The one that forumotion gives, not the ones the specific reviewers give. If I wanted one of those, I could just post a review that I made, with a badge that I made. Please reconsider reviewing Decoy Dragon Academy. I'm starting to think you are not reading my posts... You asked me if I wanted to have another review and I said yes, but now your refusing to review it? I had a question about the review Valjko gave me so we started to discuss it. I'm am very unsatisfied with the service that forumotion is giving me.

I am reading your posts. Veljko is just as good as a reviewer as any other. Technically he did tag it before me. We cannot really do anything about the review. It is a good review and it was tagged by a member. We are unable to deny members the ability to write a review. You just have to get lucky to get a grade either from them, or have an official reviewer tag the request. I'd also like to point out that talking to someone in a debativeness manner is arguing, and arguing is flaming. To be honest you're both lucky to get out with no warnings. Just request another review when the time is right.
