All post numbers showing in thread

Hello Everyone
Is it possible to view each post (#number) in a thread? (Or can this already be set from admin panel?)
My reasons:
I'm not a great lover of "quotes" especially long quotes when replying to one particular post or more from another members in a large thread comprising of numerous pages, so it who be a great help if I could draw others attentions to the post in question by simply typing; Please read post #25, #34, #67. That way members can view the #numbered page/s without plastering quotes all over a reply.
That way I could remove the quote tabs from the message box.

I voted no, because I like that quotes can be used. Using post number means you have to navigate away from the post you are reading.

It's not no. It's there by default on Invision forums though.

Is it possible to activate post numbers in posts? Basically so that each post lists its post ID.
As is first post is post 1 the reply is post 2 and so on.
Just a little something that a prefer, although there is probably be a way I can implement it myself.
