Gamer's Talk

Quick Review - Rating: Poor
When I entered your site, I was not too impressed with the banner. The two fighters are interesting, but the rest of the banner is a bit bland. The text is uninspiring and seems too 20th century. You could try adding a more modern, invigorating, and colorful background for a quite pleasing effect. As I look down, I see that you've included your Site Title in the header section (right below the banner). That can be definitely removed, since it doesn't look good and the text seems out-of-place and very boring. When trying to make a good impression, a good way is through graphics. Work on creating a better banner that incorporates contemporary styles and games/images from the current market of games out there.
I'd like to add that video game forums are a competitive niche. There are many, many video game sites out there, and you need to be absolutely top quality and striking to be able to stand out, compete, and keep members. Now I will give you a brief synopsis of the things you should work on.

    Things to Improve:
    - Forum icons
A note about forum icons: They are imperative to the top design of a forum. Forum icons for each forum section can make a site seem instantly 30% better. Look for icons that have modern, quality looks to them.

    - Portal
    - Grammar problems on forum section descriptions
    - Way too many usergroups for the amount of activity you have
    - Better background
    - Forum layout
A good tip here (and for graphic ideas) is to go Google other video game forums. Take a look at some popular, active sites and how they set up their forum sections. Also, take a look at their site colors and graphics and try to find ideas that you could use when you are making your own.

    - Site activity

Now, I can tell that you've not worked on your site for too long. That's not too bad of a start. Start focusing on graphics and forum layout for now until you have a good quality design. Only then will you be able to fully compete with other gaming discussion sites. Take a look at other forums and see how they designed it. And also, pay a visit to the Tips & Tricks section of the Support Forum to see what cool stuff you could add to your site! Another great place to check would be the Graphics Design section, where you can freely utilize ready-to-use image sets or request your own graphics.

Regards and best of luck,
Empire_1
