Ok so i see no point in the friends thing.... I thought it would be nice to have a chat like facebook.. like so you can chat with your friends without all the people in the chatbox seeing it

Why not use PM for this? There's programs out there that do it. Might wanna check. I'll say no to adding this though to forums as forums isn't suppose to turn into a Facebook style site.

Chatbox are for everyone. PM can be used to this for friends.

It sounds nice at first. But forums are more for people coming together, not hanging out 1 on 1. Attention needs to be maintained on the actual forums I think, as admins have issues with the chatbox alone because users will only talk there and ignore the forum all together. I vote no.

Yes, Definately, Its the best idea ever! Pms are just long and not live, i prefer to chat rather than keep sending messages or spam in the forums!
It should be built in forumotion!

If there's any chatbox or another chat all the members will stay and post in chatbox and chat, not on your forum. I know it's optional, but it's enough a chatbox and PM.

On Facebook you don't have Private Messages(I think, I'm not using FaceBook anymore and I didn't use it as other persons do) so you have a private chat, it's the same thing. If you have a private chat and private message, what's the difference? You have two things, but the design is not the same, it is the only difference.

It's un-useless a chat such as facebook has and I already gave you reasons. So I voted "no".

(You can code a chat like facebook, but it's not very simple. You can easily ALMOST transform private messages in a chat like facebook - just their aspect)

If you dont have a chatbox people will do all the conversations on the forum which is spam.

Sorry, voted no. The current chat is what needs improvements, and I would feel that going with a "Facebook-like" chat would be a regression.
