Please vote, I think it would be cool to have the ability to put a password on certain forums, I know permissions can be changed to make forums viewable to certain groups and members but I want a password protected forum to show the forum archives to everyone for several reasons, so start voting immediately.

I am not sure, but I believe there is a tutorial or thread about this already.

Why dont you use groups permission better?
Passworded forums arent recommended at all
Why? Because if someone tell to other person the password, that person will can go into that passworded forum and see all with his/her own account...
But if you use groups, that person would have to guess the password of one person with access to that section, wich would be more difficult and umprobable...
And, in adition, its quite easy to have the password of a pasworded forum, because it uses JavaScript (so, this means that if you take a look at the page source code you will get it)
So, my recomendation: use groups permissions instead of passworded forums, your forum will be safe by doing that

A "no" for me.
It's better for a group permissions system.

I'm thinking that we should be able to have a different design, banner and colour for each category and forum we add to our sites, instead of 1 standard design.
