Increase depth of banner

I would like to increase the depth of my banner to take a Pic or divide the banner into 3 segments to take a pic and an object on either side of the forum title. I only want the green section increased. How do I do it ?

What do you mean by the depth? You mean to make it bigger, the green part?

yes, I would like to make the green part deeper (bigger). I would like the green part to be at least 3 times the current size.
