I think if our members have a right to upload images (Available) and videos(youtube) to our forum would it not be good idea.

i mean if one of our member got some good video suitable for our forum then he should be able to add that video in the our video gallery viewable to all members of the forum. They can rate and comment too.

SImply i mean we should have a video gallery similar to photo gallery

I voted no because It would be open to abuse.
Just think of the amount of warez sites on forumotion joined by video porn sites.

There will be a approval permission and this is optional. I think it is good idea from any side.

i dont think its needed, it can easily created using html and youtube embed codes, however i am not voting yes or no as i understand why others may want it and dont have the html knowledge.

we can not easily create that automatically. I mean member can just upload then approve from us and then comment can be made. If i do with html it will not have any of the above feature.

This is good and easy because it will be similar to photo gallery and just small improvement would be fine enough to get final touch.

Moreover, this will not make any restricition on upload because youtube files will be on youtube server only. We need to just give url of that youtube code.

While I understand people might not always use it with the best intentions in mind. My group is using this for a Sign Language class and having this ability would be great for those of us who do not feel comfortable posting our videos on a public site like youtube, dailymotion, etc.

If someone "Uploads" a YouTube video it will be on the forums server and YouTube will have nothing to do with the video. If you use a embed code YouTube controls and powers it. if you upload a video file to the forum it is on the forums sever and the forum powers it.

Uploading a video and posting a video via embed code are entirely two different things.

Creating a Video topic on the forum people can easily post videos and comment on them and it is still powered by YouTube and any copyright issues are not your problem. If you allow uploaded videos to your forum then it becomes your problem and this forum servers problem. Videos are deleted everyday by the thousands on YouTube for copyright issues and when that happens the video posted via embed code no longer plays the video because its not on YouTube anymore it has either been deleted or the embed code has been disabled by the uploader or YouTube.

Having said that, it is completely doable to have a video gallery where members can post a video via embed code. Not upload it, post it via embed code.
