Short question: do you expect, or is there, a loss of security by configuring an AV on-access scanner to check on writing only?

I have a lot of "imdb.nfo" files with just an imdb link in them. My folder structure is:

Using version 2.121 i deleted all 200 fanarts from my collection and rescanned.
It froze on certain films like "I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry" and i had to close and manually choose the fanart to the scanner to get past it..

Can't scan TV shows on a mapped network drive.
Tried to copy a TV show to local harddisk and then it worked.
Scanning movies from mapped network drive works fine, but not TV shows.
