Pentaho as a Replacement to SAS Olap

Has anyone done used Pentaho as a Replacement to SAS Olap, I would be interested in knowing what the experience has been. If you have used both these tools in different projects (and not necessarily replacing SAS Olap with Pentaho) that is welcome too.
