Destroyed SD card in my Kyros 7015!!!

Using the Coby Kyros

I would like to find out if you have to have a Micro SD card to be able to read books and listen to music. I thought I had downloaded books and synced my music to my Coby, but when I try to read or listen....it tells me to search my SD card. Please help.
